Well hello…we are almost there, tonight was the dock party, and my boss wanted to see my boat, so…he came down and turns out he knows the organizer David Sutcliffe, and a number of other people…such a small world, isn’t it?!
We welcomed our crew member Elaine today, she is a perfect fit for our team!!cccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc oh, that’s me falling asleep as I am typing, hah hah!!
So, I will make this one brief…we are all super excited…planning the route and trying to avoid this strange anomaly of a light wind high breaking out in the middle of where we want to go…eeek!
And: My aunt’s boyfriend Jefferson Massie came down to see the boat…he was wanting to do the VicMaui back when it started in 1965…but felt his boat was not up to it…even though the safety requirements were certainly not what they are now…so, Jefferson decided to cross the Atlantic instead, and, yes, he did it with a sextant…no electronics back then…so when I am back I will visit with him and my Aunt to hear his stories…and Jefferson joked “the stories get bigger as time goes on…”!!
Ok, now I will relax and rest and go and do a few things tomorrow (exchange a few boat items, pick up some extra screws/bolts…to replace the ones used when I fixed the alternator bracket and needed bolts…
OH: some of Hawaii Welcome crowd is here….and they are adamant about the quality of their welcome, we have to provide a list of our food and drink wants for when we land: ok, I pick: mangoes, macadamia nuts, guacamole, thick tortilla chips, fresh mushrooms, and Perrier water, I am drooling at the thought already, hah hah!!
